At Toadhall Montessori Nursery and Creche, we believe that nutrition is an extremely important aspect of every child’s development. Good nutrition enhances a child’s performance, behaviour and learning.

For this reason, Toadhall has devised highly nutritionally balanced menus for breakfast, lunch, tea and snacks.

At Toadhall,  our cook Vanessa is highly qualified and accomplished in providing freshly prepared, well balanced and nutritional meals and works closely with all staff to provide four seasonal menus, an example of which is shown below. At Toadhall, we ensure that all dietary requirements are met by working in close partnership with parents/guardians and, of course, the children.

Toadhall Montessori Nursery and Creche welcomes any input and suggestions from parents/guardians and children with regards to our four seasonal menus.

At Toadhall, we believe that encouraging healthy food choices is essential to ensure these skills are continued in later life and in adulthood. For this reason, the children are involved in many activities related to healthy eating and the importance of ‘5 a day’ fruit and vegetables.At Toadhall Montessori Nursery and Creche, we believe that meal times are an important social occasion and as such, all children are involved in the preparation of meal times i.e. helping to set the table, self-serving and clearing away/washing up after meals!

Toadhall Montessori Nursery and Creche also encourages the children to understand the relationship between healthy eating and good dental hygiene. For this reason, Toadhall has embraced the ‘Designed to Smile’ program and all staff have been trained to deliver this approach with the children.

Toadhall Montessori Nursery and Creche has retained the Gold Standard Healthy Snack Award for the 3rd consecutive time and works closely with NDNA (National Day Nurseries Association) to promote ‘Healthy Body, Happy Me’ activities throughout the year.

All staff at Toadhall have gained their OCN Nutrition qualification and the Level 2 Food Hygiene award.
